Set up your tiendita
You'll need about 15 minutes, an email address and, if you can, a computer (a phone works too, but a big screen is easier). You don't need to install anything or know about computers: just follow the steps in order.
-
Create your free Cloudflare account
Cloudflare is the company where your store will run. Go to dash.cloudflare.com/sign-up, enter your email and a password, and confirm the email you get. When it asks about a plan, stay on the Free one.
-
Create your GitHub account
GitHub is where a copy of your store's "code" is kept (the instructions it's built from). It's free: sign up at github.com/signup if you don't have an account yet. In the next step Cloudflare will ask for permission to connect to your GitHub: say yes.
-
Press the button to create your store
With both accounts ready, press this button. Cloudflare opens with everything filled in: your store's name, the database and the place for your photos.
You can leave everything as it is. Pick your GitHub account and press the button to create and deploy (it says something like "Create and deploy"). "Deploy" just means putting your store online.
-
Wait a few minutes
Cloudflare copies the code to your GitHub, creates the database and the photo storage, and publishes your store. When it's done, it shows your store's address, ending in
.workers.dev. Open it: you'll see a screen saying your tiendita is ready. -
Find your claim code
So nobody else can take over your store, every time it's published a secret code is created that only someone with access to your Cloudflare account can see. That's you. You'll find it in the build log (the record of how your store was built):
- Open the Cloudflare dashboard.
- Go to Workers & Pages and open your store (
tiendita). - Open Deployments.
- On the latest one, press View build log.
- Look for the box that says código de reclamo (claim code, in Spanish) and copy the code.
Only the code from the latest deploy works: if your store gets published again, look for the new one.
-
Sign in to your store for the first time
Open your store and follow the prompts: paste the claim code and the store walks you through five short screens.
- Your sign-in: you use your device's fingerprint, face or PIN (it's called a "passkey"). No password to remember.
- Your recovery code: it's shown only once. Keep it somewhere safe (printed or in your password manager): it's what lets you back in if you lose your phone.
- Your store's name, your WhatsApp and your bank details for transfers.
- Your first product. And you're ready to sell!
Asked for a card? To turn on photo storage, Cloudflare may ask you to add a card. It won't charge you while you stay within the free plan. More in how much it costs.
If something goes wrong
The deploy ended with an error
In the Cloudflare dashboard, open your store, go to Deployments and retry the latest one. If it got stuck halfway, you can delete the store and repeat step 3: you lose nothing, since you haven't added any products yet.
I can't find the claim code
Make sure you're looking at the latest deployment and its full build log. The box shows up in the middle of the log; use your browser's search (Ctrl+F) and look for the word "reclamo".
The code doesn't work
Copy it without extra spaces and check that it's from the latest deploy. After several failed tries, the store asks you to wait about 15 minutes before trying again.
I lost my phone or my passkey
Sign in to your store with the recovery code you saved: it lets you create a new passkey. If you lost both, you'll need to create the store again.
